Mount Tabor Park is a great place to get some exercise and see some of the remains of Portland’s extinct volcano. The trails here wind tightly around the mountain and offer a variety of inclines and slopes, making it perfect for anyone looking to train for bigger hikes.

The Blue Trail starts from the kiosk and heads west from there, heading up to the summit for some great views of downtown Portland and Mount Hood. This trail is a bit confusing at times, but the blue arrows that are posted help you to follow the best route. When you reach the summit, be sure to check out the towering statue of Oregon pioneer and newspaper editor Harvey W. Scott, as well as a historic Tudor-style bathroom.
