Oaks Park is 3.5 miles south of downtown Portland and one of the oldest amusement parks in the country. It opened in May 1905 and features thrill rides, family rides, and a roller skating rink.

Roller skating is a great way to cool off in the Northwest! Oaks has everything you need for a fun outing, including skate rentals, classes, and party packages. Read on to find out more.

Thrill rides

Whether you’re looking for a thrill ride or want to take your kids for a spin on the carousel, Oaks Amusement Park has something to offer everyone. It’s one of the oldest amusement parks in the Northwest and is sure to please. The park also has a wide range of food concessions and game arcades.

If you’re in the mood for a thrill, check out the Eyerly Rock-O-Plane or the Tilt a Whirl. These rides are perfect for kids and adults who enjoy good old-fashioned fun!

To be admitted to any rides at the Oaks Amusement Park, you will need to present your ticket. However, it is important to note that the park is not a place for children to run around freely. There are several rules that must be followed, including staying on the designated paths and avoiding running into other riders. Additionally, you will need to bring a bottle of water with you.

Family rides

The park features a wide variety of family rides that are fun for kids of all ages. These include the Tea Cups, Log Flume Ride, Tilt a Whirl, and more. Some of these are suitable for kids as young as 2 years old.

If you don’t want to take a thrill ride, you can ride the historic carousel or train for free with your ticket or bracelet. However, height and age requirements apply.

The park is located along the Springwater Trail, a multi-use path that is perfect for strollers, bicycles, and wheelchairs. Parking is available onsite. You can also walk to the park from the Sellwood neighborhood or take public transportation. A free courtesy shuttle is provided during special events. Bring a water bottle to stay hydrated. You can also purchase food and drinks onsite. The park has a first-come, first-served picnic area. You can also bring your own picnic items if you prefer. A must-see place!

Haunted attractions

If you are looking for a thrill this Halloween, Oaks Park has a variety of haunted attractions for you to choose from. There’s even a haunted house that has been described as “the largest in the metro area.” Whether you want to wander through an abandoned factory or cozy up with blood-hungry clowns, there is a haunted attraction for you.

There are also a number of family-friendly activities, including a pumpkin patch, hayrides, and corn mazes. You can also participate in a costume contest and visit the beer garden.

This year, Oaks Amusement Park partnered with ScareGrounds PDX to offer three haunted houses. They will be open on weekends and during the week leading up to Halloween. Gabriel Gonzales said he was excited about the event, which will include trick-or-treating for kids. You can get a treat bag at any midway game booth and then visit each of the three houses to collect treats. You can also use the treat bag to get free rides on the carousel, train, mini golf, and roller skating.

Roller skating

Roller skating is a popular pastime that can provide a fun workout for the whole family. In addition to building strength and balance, it can also improve posture and reduce back pain. However, it is important to start slowly and build endurance over time. Strang suggests adding a few basic strength exercises to your skating routine, such as small plyometric jumps and body-weight squats. These exercises will help strengthen the ankles, calves, and core.

Roller skating at Oaks Park is available to the public during regular skate sessions and special events. During these times, all skaters must be accompanied by an adult 21 years or older. The park also has a skate club that offers group instruction and training. In addition to roller skating, the park offers a number of food and beverage options. It is a great place to take the kids or plan a romantic outing. The Oaks Amusement Park has been around since 1905 and has been featured in a number of movies and television shows.
